In this course you will learn how to get students started with making their first sounds on the flute head joint. As this would likely be a student's first flute lesson you'll also learn appropriate language and greeting skills, and be asked to consider your teaching environment. Potential challenges students may face in first learning to produce a flute sound are covered in the troubleshooting lesson. Suggestions on how to assign practise tasks in this exciting new venture for your student are also included.
Nicola began teaching her next door neighbour the flute while still a student herself and has been teaching flute ever since. She holds a Master of Music degree majoring in flute performance and has studied with some of the world's leading flutists in Australia, the UK and USA. She has 20 years experience teaching students from ages 6 to 60 in private studio, school and tertiary settings. Nicola believes one of the best ways a student can learn is to teach!
